Steam's trunk-packing achievement specifies ten furniture boxes, not ten loose objects or ten assembled pieces of furniture. Keep the box, its unpacked contents and the finished installation as separate states when checking storage or assembly trouble.
Packing evidence
Before packing, record each box's catalogue identity and intended job. Check the actual trunk contents after placement; a box beside the vehicle is not evidence that it is stored. The achievement description does not supply a fixed packing arrangement or prove every mix of furniture boxes will fit.
Before and after loading
Update 6 addressed an emptied trunk after loading. Compare the same boxes across that boundary before purchasing replacements. Duplicated switches are a different Update 4 issue, not a reliable method to obtain extra furniture or money.
When the problem is assembly
If the box survives but the assembled item changes model or loses installed parts, use the object-specific record. The wrong home sofa model and incomplete saved assemblies are distinct from trunk capacity. Keep the original box or catalogue screenshot so the developer can identify the variant.
